How to Top Up AWCC (Afghan Wireless) from Abroad

AWCC, short for Afghan Wireless Communication Company, is one of the main mobile networks in Afghanistan, and a large number of people use an AWCC SIM for calls, messaging and internet. If a relative of yours is on AWCC and you live abroad, you can keep their phone topped up online in a few minutes. This guide shows you how, explains the choices you will meet on the form and covers what to do if something goes wrong.

Who needs to top up AWCC from abroad?

The most common senders are people who support family members: a son or daughter abroad sending to parents, a brother helping a sibling, a worker supporting a household. Others top up for friends, for a business contact or for a student they sponsor. Whatever the reason, the process is the same, and you do not need the recipient's personal details, only their phone number.

What you need

  • The AWCC number, copied exactly. Ask the person to send it as a message, so that you can copy and paste instead of retyping.
  • A card or wallet: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Apple Pay or Google Pay.
  • An idea of what to send: call credit, an internet bundle or both.

Step 1: Enter the number

Open the top-up form and type the number. The site reads the first digits and suggests the network with its logo. For a genuine AWCC number you should see the AWCC logo appear.

If the logo is different, do not ignore it. Numbers can be moved between networks, and a prefix only tells you who first issued it. Read how to find a number's network by prefix and ask your relative which network the SIM belongs to today. If necessary, tap the logo and choose AWCC yourself.

Step 2: Choose credit or internet data

AWCC users often rely on mobile data for messaging apps and video calls, so the question of credit versus data matters.

  • Credit pays for calls and SMS.
  • A data bundle gives a fixed amount of internet for a fixed number of days.

Which options you see depends on what is available for that network at the time. If an internet bundle is offered for the number, it appears with its size and validity. Check the validity as carefully as the size, because a large bundle that expires in a few days can be worse than a smaller one that lasts a month. The guides on credit or data and on data for video calls help you decide.

Step 3: Check the summary

The order summary shows the number, the network, what will be delivered and the total in US dollars. Nothing is charged until you confirm. Take your time here:

  1. Compare every digit of the number with your contact.
  2. Confirm that the network says AWCC.
  3. Make sure the amount or bundle is what you intended.
  4. Read the total and decide if it suits you.

Step 4: Pay and keep the reference

Pay by card, Apple Pay or Google Pay. Stripe processes the payment, and we do not see or store your full card number. When it succeeds you receive an order reference. Write it down or keep the confirmation email.

Then use Track an order to see the status. An order becomes delivered only when the delivery provider confirms it. If the provider's answer is unclear, the order is held for checking and is not sent again automatically, which protects you from a double top-up. See what happens after you pay for the whole journey.

Making AWCC top-ups last

  • Match the amount to real use. Ask what the person does most: calls, messages, video or social media.
  • Suggest Wi-Fi where possible, such as at home, school or the shop, so that mobile data is kept for outside.
  • Tell them what you sent. A message with the bundle name or credit amount avoids confusion with other offers from the network.
  • Send before the balance is empty, so there is never a gap.
  • Check twice at busy times. Around holidays, networks are slower. See the Ramadan and Eid planning guide.

What to do if it does not arrive

  1. Ask your relative to restart the phone and look at the balance again.
  2. Check the status on Track an order.
  3. Verify that the number and network on the order are correct.
  4. If the status says delivered and nothing has appeared after a reasonable time, write to support@go-recharge.com with the reference and the number.

Never pay again while the first order is unresolved. The article top-up not received: 9 reasons and fixes lists what usually causes a delay and how to solve it.

Frequently asked questions

Can I send AWCC credit and data in the same order?

Each order is for one item, so place one order for credit and another for a bundle, and keep both references.

What if the AWCC number I have is old?

Ask the person to confirm it before you pay. People change SIMs more often than you might think.

Is it safe to enter my card details?

Payment is handled by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number. The page address should be go-recharge.com, and you can read more in our guide to paying safely.

Can I top up from a country other than where I was born?

Yes. The service works from anywhere your card or wallet works.

Where can I get help?

Write to support@go-recharge.com or open the Help page, which lists exactly what to include.

The short version

To top up AWCC from abroad: enter the number, confirm that the AWCC logo appears, choose credit or an internet bundle, read the total, pay with a card or wallet and keep the order reference. Check Track an order if you are unsure, and contact support if the status and the phone do not match. Send your top-up on GO-RECHARGE when you are ready.
